I raise a few silkies and silkie cross chickens each year or hatch out eggs I have shipped in from other breeds to build up and add to our own flock.

I usually have several extra little roos that we can’t keep due to space and lack of hens-I have tried because we love them all.

I normally keep all young Roos until they are about 5-6 months old before selling them, to let them grow and feather out and be ready for their own flock…however this time I have decided to place an ad at a younger age so they may better acclimate to a new flock.

All of our birds we offer for sale have been handled and interacted with daily as if they were a family pet. These two will have to get acquainted with their new owners, but currently let us pick them up pretty easily out in the open and are very gentle and use to being handled.

They should grow up to be smaller than a regular sized Ameraucana rooster but bigger than a silkie, not too big and not too small. They are beautiful, intelligent, and very fancy looking birds when fully feathered and grown.

I will post pics of full sibling roosters and a hen that I have previously hatched so you can see what to expect for stature and coloring when they are full grown.

They are coming from blue/black/and splash genetics on the silkie side and mom is a Blue Ameraucan hen that lays blue eggs.

All offspring from this pairing have produced blue or black offspring. The females from this crossing have also laid blue eggs. These birds are great flock protectors yet not aggressive that we have experienced, and are good breeding roosters.

“Goose” Blue silkie/Ameraucana Cross Roo-hatched March 2, 2024.

Super soft and beautiful feathers, feathered feet, polydactyl, fibromelanistic skin, puffy cheeks, and a small tuft of feathers on his head-he will also have the blue ears like a silkie. Super sweet-has just begun trying to crow. His coloring is beautiful and these birds get more striking as they age and feather out.$20

“Maverick” Black Silkie/Ameraucana Cross young roo, hatched March 2, 2024.

He will have beautiful and striking coloring once feathered out-he is super sweet, has tons of cheek puff, fluffy on top, he will continue to get the red/orange throughout as he ages, he will have the green/purple iridescent shine in his feathering, feathered feet, fibromelanistic skin, and will also have the blue ears like a silkie. $20

Both sweet and well socialized to people and are not aggressive towards other chickens.

They should do well in heat and cold-all of my have done just fine-even in the 110’s and below zeros-

Fed quality feed and vitamin supplement/electrolytes through water, parasite and bug free-not caged or over crowded-cooped at night and let out in the yard at times during the day.

Will make nice flock roosters or breeding roosters.

I also have a mature (2.5 yr old Blue silkie rooster for sale named “Macho” $25-)…father to these two little ones, Macho is shown in pics with the Ameracauna hen, he’s an excellent breeder, dominant in nature towards other roosters and great protector-gentle with then hens, but can chase your feet at times if your close or if you pick up hens and the start making too much noise, wouldn’t recommend him to be around small children due to that…He’s easy to catch and we just put him in a smaller area if we plan on doing anything with the hens-otherwise he’s been awesome for us-raised him from a chick as well and he’s been our only rooster we have kept for breeding. He will breed large and small hens-he has kept several chicks from getting eaten from a hawk last fall.

Looking for a good home that can handle a rooster with some attitude at times-not bad, but I don’t want anyone to be surprised. He hates crocs and flip flops too.

He usually he leaves you alone-every now and again he just catches me off guard-he’s sneaky like that.

He does know his name-if you squat down and talk to him he always starts clucking to you-he’s not one that is constantly trying to get you-otherwise we wouldn’t have kept him this long. Can send more pictures of him if interested.

Please respond through the ad and leave a number if you prefer to communicate that way.

If ad is up-they are available. Email with any questions..thanks!

Safe caring homes please. NO PULLETS available for sale at this time, only young roos and ONE mature Blue silkie rooster.

$20 each on little Roos
$25 for mature Rooster

CASH or Venmo only-

I prefer to meet in a public location-I am located in Bullard area and willing to meet outside the Tyler-Bullard area if needed-just ask and we can figure it out.

Thanks for looking!
