Massive weekly round up incomingβ¦β¦ MondayI did some video work with Pax8 discussing why we think nonprofits need all the same support and advice around cyber security as any other organisation. We discussed charity specific licensing from Microsoft and how it would be great to see more vendors doing the same.TuesdayJordon and I attended our first Shropshire Leadership conference at the Theatre Severn.Michael Heppell talked to us about how to be brilliant and even had us all dancing at one point.Wednesday Back to the Theatre Severn again, this time I had the privilege of speaking at the WR Partners UK annual conference, I even got to wear a Britney mic. I was invited to talk about the journey Start Tech has been on to get us where we are today and how EOS has been instrumental in the later part of that journey.I was lucky enough to attend the whole day and it was fantastic to see behind the scenes of a company I'm proud to call our partners.Thursday morningI jumped on a call with an MSP that I met just a few weeks ago at a Pax8 partner event to talk about how we both use EOS in our businesses.Thursday afternoon, it's not all rosesβ¦β¦I had a meeting with a client to discuss a significantly long standing issue they have been struggling with. We've not owned the issue like we should have and I'm quickly reminded that it's not all fun and games, and we have to be constantly improving. πFriday morningEveryone is in the office for a big team update where we talked over how Q2 played out. I love it when everyone is in the office, but parking is a nightmare!Right before I kick things off, I get a few emails from the Shropshire Chamber of Commerce about the upcoming awardsβ¦We missed out on the shortlist for Outstanding Business Growth and Young Business Person of the year, but I was delighted that we made the shortlist for Outstanding Customer Service.Friday afternoon Joe Lockley from Brightstar boxing came over for a long overdue catch-up. I love chatting with Joe, he and I are both so passionate about our organisations. I think he's come up with a couple of brilliant ideas for me that I need to look into....*This post was not sponsored by EOS π€£#weeklyroundup

Shropshire Business Festival was brilliant π₯³Working alongside the guys at Shropshire ThinkTank the team put on an epic day to highlight what we are all about.Josh Foye from our key partner Pax8 supported us and as ever did a fantastic job and showed why relationships and partnerships are what makes a business thrive. This morning's "After Action Report" session was full of positive feedback from the entire team. I wasn't expected to be back from an event in Bristol in time to catch any of the event, but I managed to get back to catch the last couple of hours. When I arrived, I was so proud of my team because so many people stopped to talk to me and tell me just how much they appreciated the seminars and time my time took to engage with them. #partnerships #proudbossmoment

β‘οΈ Should I be allowed to teach GCSE maths because I have a maths GCSEββ‘οΈ Should I be able to MOT a car because my car has an MOT ββ‘οΈ Should I be selling advice on Cyber Essentials because my business has Cyber Essentials βWe're seeing an increasing number of 'specialist' Cyber Essentials companies appearing, that say they can help to get your business Cyber Essentials certified, proudly based on the fact they are Cyber Essentials certified.... π€All businesses should be aiming to achieve Cyber Essentials, but being Cyber Essentials certified does not qualify you to sell advice on Cyber Essentials. If you are looking for trusted advice on Cyber Essentials, I'd strongly recommend you work with a company that is certified to give the right advice. You can find a list of Assured Service Providers here πhttps://lnkd.in/dh9uTFcuYou can learn more about the Cyber Advisor scheme here πhttps://lnkd.in/dThTipCs#CyberAdvisor #AssuredServiceProvider #CyberEssentials #CyberSecurity

Savages π₯ΉIf hackers are willing to stop beer being made, then I think we can safely assume they will take down any organisation, regardless of size or purpose. In all seriousness, no organization is off limits. I hear repeatedly "We're too small to get hit" or "Nobody would bother to hack us", this is simply not the case.Whilst you may not be the target of some state led attack, anyone with an internet connection or email address has the potential to be hit.https://lnkd.in/en8CqV5z
