What are the must-have mods to play this?

It's no Minecraft. It doesn't need mods.

people rather cut bloat with quality of life mods
therefore, turbo fishing. it's still clutter because people are familiarized with the powercreep when ideally it should be removed entirely - Anonymous

Autotrash is about the only genuine must-have mod that doesn't add too much or cut out intentional game design like some of these fricking abominations. Big shoutouts to Magic Storage though.

What blocks did you use for the walls, other than tin bricks. My blind ass isn't recognizing them.

Cute npcs.

Thank you. I'm not fully satisfied with my modpack. There's a lot of npcs unchanged, and while it's unreasonable to expect every enemy, at the very least I want the zombies to be sexy. Still, it is fun.

This game inspired me to help out ants.
>be me
>very inteligent
>play this game
>feel like an ant digging a hole
>npcs are my larvae
>i keep them safe
>start imagining npcs doing lewd stuff but they are ants
>eventually it changes to ants doing lewd things to the regular npcs
>notice there is a anthill next to my house
>cum on it
>the ants swarm it and start eating it
>they start bringing it in
>shiet
>it's really hot
>start doing it every daythe ants thrive

>magic storage
Enough said. You're only doing yourself a disservice by not having it, being able to put your items in one spot makes it a lot easier to see what you have and it has a built in recipe list so you can see what you need to craft anything.
>ore excavator/vein miner
Useful for vein mining and can auto-place platforms when you build an arena. This is probably the furthest purists would take modding.
>fargo's mutant
Purchasable boss, event and rare enemy summons (you still have to beat it once to buy the summon), the ability to capture npcs with the bug net (important for the traveling merchant so you can check the inventory every day if you need to or craft him into one guaranteed item for double the cost), and various instabuilders. You can convert banners into an enemy's rare drop, treasure bags into one of the possible items, water fountains can force the surrounding area into whatever biome the fountain is while active, and there's an option to make buff potions infinite if you're holding onto 30 of the same copy.
>alchemistlite
What if the only thing that mattered in Terraria was money? You can purchase potions, crafting materials, just about every building block out there, accessories, and even treasure bags depending on your progress through the game.
>level+
You want to know what Terraria needed? RPG leveling of course! Every enemy you kill will give experience, and every level lets you allocate stats into various things, like extra health, extra mp, increased damage, extra minion slots, reduced mp usage, better mobility, etc. Enemies also get slight stat boosts each time you level to compensate for it or you can turn that off in the config. Definitely do not use this mod if you're looking for a standard playthrough, this is great for messing around though. - Anonymous

Recipe Browser, Boss Checklist, and Magic Storage can be kinda nice for quality of life. Maybe Fargo's Best of Both Worlds. But no mod is actually necessary. Vanilla is good.
It is absolutely 100% essential that you don't use any content mods. They're all sh*t.

I enjoy calamity but the base game is more than enough. you don't need any mods, they're all supplemental content
I think the closest thing to a "required" mod would be recipe browser, because it just replaces the need for having to have 20 wiki tabs open to see what sh*t to craft. But even then, the guide is enough for recipes - Anonymous

Should I play Terraria and Stardew Valley?
They're extremely highly rated, but I tried both of them for a few hours, SV felt like a chore with tedious and sh*tty gameplay. And Terraria just didn't hook me. Buut it was more than 5 years ago. Should I give them another chance?- Anonymous

they aren't related except for the graphics but yeah they are both good. stardew is more of a vibe where you chill while terraria is more engaging with proper combat

Stardust Dragon is objectively the worst summoning weapon simply for the fact that it is an endgame weapon that is worse than Sharknado and Terraprisma
- Anonymous

Reply
Worse than Terraprisma yes, but Sharknado? I'd agreed with you if you said Xeno staff instead. It's like saying Terrablade outperforms both Daybreak and Solar Eruption in general scenario, despite being obtainable post-Plantera.

Sharknado have more speed and crowd control by virtue of having more minions. And compare to Xeno staff it have more range since it stay around you and shoot projectiles rather than moving across the screen to enemies

You can really feel how much power creep HM have when you play on getfixedboi. All the special conditions in that seed make pre-HM extremely hard as intended, but once you enter HM it is all a breeze, HM gear literally ignore all the restrictions the dev themselves think of

They're gonna add the option to actually place kites too in this coming update. Finally, we can see the kites fly without having to do it ourselves. Now if they'd just give us the option to tame critters so we could keep a live zoo or a lively park.

My favorite thing to do in Terraria is building a glass zoo on sky lake coupled as fishing spot. So every time I take a fishing quest I just go up there, Clentimator it into different biome and chilling in a glass house
