Edwards, 68, former dean at De Paul university, died yesterday in La Salle. He had been assigned to St. Patrick's Catholic church in La Salle since 1964. Father Edwards was principal of De Paul academy, 2219 Kenmore from 1929 to 1935; dean of the college of liberal arts at the university from 1935 until 1943, and dean of university college from 1946 until 1948. He subsequently served as dean of studies at the St Louis preparatory seminary.

Father Edwards was a navy chaplain during World War II. He is survived by his sister, Mrs. Winifred Warren. A liturgical service will be held at 8 p. m.

Boy, 6, Found Shot Johnny Cantrell, 6, of 3618 State was found shot in the neck yesterday on a landing at 3616 State st. Fireman administered first aid to him and took him to the Michael Reese hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Police said they could find no witnesses to the Kraus ALICE HOB ART, 85, WRITER ON CHINA, IS DEAD Oakland, CaL, March 14 UP) Alice Tisdale Hobart, 85, author of "Oil for the Lamps of China," died at her Oakland home today after a long illness. Her books were mostly fictionalized works depicting the developing scene in China, where she lived with her husband from 1908 to 1927. Her husband, Earle Hobart, was an official in China for Standard Oil company of New York.

Grew Up in Chicago Mrs. Hobart, born in Lock-port, N. on Jan. 28, 1882, as Alice Nourse, grew up in Chicago. She was graduated from the University of Chicago in 1907.

Her writings included "Yang and Yin," "The Cup and the Sword," "The Peaco*ck Sheds His Tatt," "The Cleft Rock," "The Serpent Wreathed Staff," "Venture Into Darkness" and "Gusty's Child," an autobiographical work. Last Book in 1963 Her last book was "The Innocent Dreamers," published in 1963. Besides her husband she leaves a brother, Edward G. Nourse, and a sister, Mary A. Nourse, both of Washington, D.C.

Ferguson Raymond W. Ferguson, 68, retired controler of the overseas division of International Harvester company, died yesterday in Delray Beach, Fla. He retired in 1962 after 40 years of service with the company. For 33 years Mr. Ferguson was based abroad, mainly in South America and Europe.

Funeral services will be at 10 a. m. Thursday at -Boynton Beach, Fla. He is survived by his widow, Mavis; a daughter, Mrs. Shirley Maisee; and three grandchildren.

Frank G. Hinman Services for Frank G. Hinman, 75, retired assistant Sunday editor of The Tribune, wall be held at 1 p. m. tomorrow in the chapel at 201 Lake Maywood.

Raymond Wheeler Ferguson, age 67, of 27 Eleuthera drive, Delray Beach, passed away March 13 in Boynton Beach, Fla. Mr. Ferguson came to Florida in 1962 after his retirement as comptroller in charge of foreign operations for the International Harvester Co. A three-day search for two marines, one from Oak Lawn, lost in the Sierra Nevada in central California since early Sunday, continued to be hampered by falling snow last night, the marine corps said. A 60-man search party aided by a helicopter has been unable to locate Corp.

Raymond Weaver, 19, of Philadelphia, since they became separated from their companions while on night manuevers northeast of Yosemite National Park. One Dies, Two Hurt Neal Blakely, 18, of 824 Cardinal lane, Joliet, was killed and two other persons were injured in a two car crash at Scott and Clinton streets in Joliet yesterday. Blakely's auto, traveling north in Scott street, collided with an east-bound auto driven by Ronald P. Wagner, 19, of 215 E. Fourth Lockport. Wagner and Jasper Williams, 33, of 222 Ohio Joliet, were taken to Silver Cross hospital.

Ishmael Coffee, 42, of 1935 Hartrey Evanston, was killed Monday when his car crashed into a bridge abutment on Illinois highway 116 three miles west of Roanoke, Woodford county. He had no passengers. Dies of Injuries Alvin W. Cage, 66, of 942 W. 71st died yesterday in St Bernard's hospital of injuries suffered Dec.

21 when the auto he was driving west in Marquette road struck the pillar of a viaduct near South Park avenue. Until midnight yesterday, 100 persons had been killed in traffic accidents in Cook county since Dec. 31.
